: When and how did you start cycling?
A: I think of my cycling life in three stages. Stage 1: Rode as a kid and in college for transportation. Stage 2: Introduced to mountain biking while on a rock-climbing trip in Moab, Utah in the late 1980s and added road cycling in 1993 after I had my first child. While raising my kids, my rides were usually limited to family outings a few times a month. Stage 3: In 2012, I became a volunteer with the Mountain Bike Unit, and through another member, was introduced to both the Birds of a Feather group and B4T9. I attended my first WOW camp that year, and it changed my life!
